PAUL OREFFICE ELECTED AS VICE CHAIRMAN OF
THE NATIONAL PARKINSON FOUNDATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS


PAUL F. OREFFICE, Former Chairman of the Dow Chemical Company, a member of
the National Parkinson Foundation's Board of Governors and Vice Chairman of
NPF Board of Directors, is a Director of CIGNA Corporation, the Coca-Cola
Company, Northern Telecom Limited, as well as a member of the International
Advisory Board of Marsh and McLennan.  He is also a member of the Business
Council, and a Trustee of the American Enterprise Institute, The New York
Racing Association, Morehouse College, and Thunderbird Graduate School of
International Management.

A native of Venice, Italy, Paul first came to the United States with his
family when he was 12 years old.  He became a U.S. citizen and served in the
U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

A graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. Degree in chemical engineering,
he received an Honorary Doctor of engineering Degree from Purdue.  In
addition, he holds Honorary Doctoral Degrees in Industrial Management from
Lawrence Institute of Technology in Management from General Motors Institute,
in Science from Saginaw Valley State University, in law from Clemson
University, and in Business Administration from Tri-State University and
South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.  He is a recipient of Indiana's
highest honor, the Sagamore of the Wabash Award, for his service to
education.

He received the Order of Civil Merit from the Spanish Government and the
title of "Grand Ufficiale" from the Italian Government.  He was awarded the
International Palladium Medal by the Societe de Chimie Industrielle, the
Chemical Industry Medal by the Society of Chemical Industry, and the
Centenary Medal from SCI.  Named "Man of the Year" by the Brazilian-American
Chamber of Commerce he is the first person to receive both the Palladium
Medal and the Chemical Industry Medal.  Mr. Oreffice was honored by NPF as
Humanitarian of the Year in 1991.
