Cost of Surgery
Ms Dutton asked about cost of surgery. Budget $50,000 each. Pallidotomy is cove- red by many insurers, including Medicare in Canada; it is my impression that fetal implants are considered experimental, and may not be. If you get into a research program, the research budget may cover (e.g. Dr. Fahn - Columbia Presbyterian, NY). Pricey stuff, isn't it? Canadian costs are somewhat lower for Pallidotomy, also cheaper Canadian $ helps. Hoping this info is useful. Best of luck, William Berman
