Re: Update on leg/toe/foot cr...
Joyce, I also suffer from distonia, mostly first thing in the morning before sinemet kicks in. I've been able to control it somewhat by taking baclafen (five 10mg pills) at bedtime. This only works if I go to sleep close to midnight. If I go earlier, I take a few little nibbles of sinemet between 3 and 4, and that gets me through, more or less, until my first real dose of sinemet at 5. I often listen to a self-hypnotic tape for insomnia in the early morning hours. Over the weekend I was unable to sleep, so I got up and sat in the family room. Whenever I get up, even to go to the bathroom, I get foot cramps so bad I can hardly walk. I listened to the tape and was able to relax my foot and dozd a while even without any sinemet. Hope that helps. I've personally stayed away from ativan because my mother and aunt are addicted to it and I wouldn't want that to happen to me. Hope that helps. Pat Schark
